USC Football: Darreus Rogers Cleared By NCAA Clearinghouse

USC freshman wide receiver Darreus Rogers received clearance from the NCAA Clearinghouse Thursday, officially allowing him to join the USC football team.

Rogers announced the clearance on his Twitter account Thursday.

The 6'2" Rogers was ranked as a 4-star recruit by both Scout.com and Rivals.com. He chose USC over Arizona State on signing day. He was unable to join the Trojans for fall camp as he awaited academic clearance from the NCAA. Now that he is cleared, Rogers will add to what was already a talented Trojan wide receiver corps.

Robert Woods and Marqise Lee are locked into the top two spots, but Rogers could join the battle for the No. 3 wide receiver as early as this season. However, the late start puts him behind the other players so he has plenty of ground to make up if he is going to play this season.
